Overview

Purpose

[My goal is to make people happy with quirky cat stories. My website will be a funny cat blog for my family’s 4 cats. Each cat’s page will have funny stories from the cat’s perspective. The stories will showcase each of their personalities and hopefully make people smile. Haven’t you ever watched a cat and tried to guess what they would be saying if they could talk to you? Or maybe I spend a little too much time with my cats. I always feel like my cats would be way over-the-top and I find that funny. So my plan is that my website will have lots of over-the-top, funny little cat stories. They will at least make me laugh. ]

Audience

The audience I want to appeal to are people who love cats and need a laugh to brighten their day. I know that with the pandemic more people have had to stay home and not interact with their loved ones and friends. Between this and all of the other pandemic trials we have had increased rates of depression. It is really hard when you feel isolated and need something to help distract you or cheer you up. I would like to direct my page towards those people who really need a boost of humor and fun. I think that I can make my page very family friendly so that people of all ages can enjoy it. I will make sure that it is clean in content and has appropriate humor so that it will not offend my readers.

I liked how clean the headlines looked so I went with this.

Paragraph Font: Zen Kurenaido

I chose those one because it was fun, cute, and a bit more handwritten looking. I thought it would add more character to my site and make it more approachable.

What this site is all about
This website is for people who want to read some funny cat stories. You will learn about my family’s cats: Shadow, Tinkerbell, Hugs, and Cuddles. There is a page for Shadow, Tinker (Tinkerbell), and The Trouble Twins (Hugs and Cuddles). Each cats’ page will have four stories from their perspective. Have you ever looked at your furry best friend and they were doing something that expressed a lot of personality? Did it cause you to imagine what they would say if they could speak the same language as you? Well, that’s what these stories are about. If you’re not sure which cat to start with, you can take the quiz to find out which cat you are most compatible with and start there. I hope you enjoy my site and maybe even laugh a bit.

Meet Shadow
Shadow became a member of this family when I rescued her from a coworker who had been keeping her and three other kittens in a hamster cage. Don’t worry I made sure they all got homes where they would be happy. I had asked my sister to give me a ride to pick up the kitten from my coworker. My sister did not want pets because she was busy with her kids and didn’t want another creature to care for. She really, really, didn’t like pets very much. I had her hold the kitten while I climbed into the back of the van and that was it. She fell in love and didn’t want to give her back.
After a few days at my house, she surprised her kids with Shadow as their new pet. Everyone was ecstatic. Shadow quickly settled in to her new home where she became the queen of the house. She is pampered and loved by the whole family. She is especially close to my brother-in-law, Andrew. We jokingly call her his other wife, because she demands his attention whenever she can. If she can’t have him she will accept my sister, Barbara, as a substitute for giving her love and attention. She was the first cat for their family and has been with them since 2018.

Meet Tinkerbell
Tinkerbell joined the family after we moved to Florida. About a year after we got settled into our new home, we started to think about getting another pet. Shadow is pretty particular about her attentions and prefers to hang out with Andrew or Barbara. We decided that another cat might be nice to provide her with a friend and to give everyone else another pet to love on. We found Tinkerbell on the SPCA adoption website and found out that she was at a nearby pet store for an adoption event. We rushed on over to meet her. Originally her name was Kadabra but since she was a kitten, we decided to get to know her more before choosing a name. It wasn’t long before we realized that she was sassy and cute. We decided to name her Tinkerbell, but usually we just call her Tinker for short. If she is being especially sassy we call her Tinker Stinker.
Tinker tends to be pretty timid around strangers and prefers to hang out with me in my room. At first Shadow babied her a lot but then they settled in to living with one another and get along great. She has the cutest kitten mittens around and aspires to be an insta-cat. Tinker is a bit addicted to temptations cat treats and will get extremely loud and cranky if she is not provided with them often and in great quantity. She is not as thrilled as the rest of the family about our newest kitten additions, but she does tolerate them.

Meet the Trouble Twins (Hugs & Cuddles)
Hugs and Cuddles are the newest members of our family. We decided to look into getting my nephews a kitten for them to play with. Tinker bonded more with me and is timid when they are being loud. Shadow prefers their dad over anyone else and doesn’t like to play with kids very much. At first we considered getting a dog, but quickly realized that we are cat people now. We decided to get a kitten from the SPCA because we heard that they had lots of kittens and were desperately looking for adoptive families. When we went there was a special going where you could get a kitten and then get their friend for free. My sister thought that meant that they would come with a stuffed toy. Boy was she wrong.
When we got to the SPCA it was a buy one kitten get one kitten free sale! My nephews were beyond excited. We met so many kittens but weren’t sure which ones to get. Then a worker directed us to the last room. As soon as we went in two kittens ran up to us. They quickly bonded with the boys and even though my sister didn’t want boy kittens, she gave in pretty quickly. We thought that the kittens were twins, so we named them Hugs and Cuddles since they went together. Later we learned that they are actually a month apart in age. They were bonded though and are very cute together. We brought them home and surprised my brother-in-law who only thought we would be getting one kitten. My nephew, Michael has Hugs, and Gabriel has Cuddles. We have even color themed their collars so that they match with the boys’ favorite colors whenever possible. These little guys get into lots of trouble together and are mischievous little imps. Thankfully, they are also adorable little cuddle bugs who fit perfectly into our family.

Shadow's Page

First day of Freedom
Today was a weird day. I was released from the hamster cage of doom and thrown by one of the children at a new human. I have now left the cranky kitten bullies behind and am on a new adventure. I got to snuggle a new human and we went on a drive to this new place. There is so much space everywhere I don’t know what to do with so much room! Then I found a crazy squirrel! It is so fuzzy and fluffy and fun to wrestle. With all this space around I can run super-fast and super far. I bet if I try hard enough, I could bounce right off the wall! I wonder if I will meet any other new humans. These ones have treats and space and fun toys!!!!

The Things I Do For My Humans
Oh my heck. My humans are ridiculous. They have now taken to dressing me in clothes! RIDICULOUS HUMANS! My mama human made a dress… a dress! Then she tied it up and shoved it onto me. How could she do this to me?!? Doesn’t she know I am above such things. I am better than this. I have FUR! I don’t need stupid human, removable, fur-clothes. I am too beautiful for such things. She says it looks “cute” on me. I guess I can put up with it for her. I mean… I do make it look good. It is kinda cozy and makes me a bit sleepy… maybe I can go take a nap. I bet she will give me extra treats if I humor her and wear this thing. Naptime incoming in 5… 4…. 3…. 2… 1.

The view from Above
From up high I can see everything… The humans don’t even know I am here! I can hide and they scamper around looking for me like the pathetic human creatures they are. I am in charge and I will rule them all! Muahahahahahaha! I am the Queen of the WORLD! From here I can see everything. I can tell who has treats and who has fun toys. I make the decisions now! Obey me humans!

New kittens to Baby
They brought home two new kittens. At first, I wasn’t sure about this. Now I can see some benefits. These kittens are good for distracting the human children. They were getting annoying and wanted to play with me all the time. Now they can play with these kittens instead. These kittens are fun to chase around, pin down, and lick clean. Cuddles is especially fun to pin down and clean. He is a soft and cuddly little kitten baby. I will have to keep them around.

Not coming down
Ha! I will only come down from here for treats. I am the most gorgeous Insta-cat around. You must give me treats to acknowledge my beauty. I can pose anywhere! Do you see this amazingness? I am posed perfectly above the archway. Take your pictures you mere mortal. Enjoy my majesty. Now Give Me TREATS!

Yarn, yarn, my yarn!
This is my fabulous yarn ball. You may not have it! It is all mine and I will play with it whenever I want. I love yarn. There is so much yarn in this house and I finally get a yarn ball of my very own! It’s because I am beautiful, isn’t it?!? I am so fabulous that I require a ball of yarn and treats… don’t forget the treats. I like the temptations please. Did you forget about the temptations?!? Bring them to me… NOW!

The defeat of the Screen!
It is official, I have defeated the screen that takes my humans’ attention away from me. Now she cannot have it back. I will keep the screen and she will only pay attention to me! She will give me all the temptations and my yarn ball. She will no longer stare at the big screen because I have conquered it. Now human…. Bring me my treats and yarn!!!!

Poor Trapped Screen Cat
What is this?!? How could you do this to a poor kitten?!? My human has trapped a kitten in her little screen. She won’t let it go. How can it eat temptations?!? How can it play with yarn when it is trapped in the glowing screen? Let them out! Let them out I say. Wait… if I get them out of there do I have to share my temptations? Maybe I should take a nap instead.

The Trouble Twins Page

Why are you interrupting our cuddly lovey time?!?
Cuddles: Hey now! We were having cuddly love time and Hugs was getting my ears clean! You need to go away so we can have our time. How else am I supposed to get my ears clean? He wasn’t even attacking me. We were playing nice. Are you going to scoop me up and kiss me again? I am tired of all the kisses. I need a break! Being this cute is hard work. Lemme be!

Pure Innocence
Cuddles: What? I am not doing anything. You totally put all of this stuff here as a snuggly bed for me, right? I mean… it’s the perfect bed for me. It is the perfect size. Plus, I can watch everything you guys are up to on the couch. As soon as you finish your drink, I am going to grab your straw so fast! You won’t even know what hit you. Gimme the straws now!

Pregnant Humans are on to something…
Hugs: Oooph! Pregnant humans have got one thing right. Those pillows with the holes in them are perfect for resting your tummy in! This donut pillow is the best spot to rest. This is the comfiest I have been in a while. Mmmmmm stretch… ahhh relaxation is the best. I am going to lay here and rest my poor tummy. All those treats and foods are stretching my poor belly to bits.

Mischief Planning in Progress
Hugs: Hey now! Go spy on somebody else! We have mischief to manage over here. I am trying to plan the best method to attack your hoodie strings when you least expect it. Shoo human! Shoo! I have almost convinced Cuddles to be my cute, decoy kitten brother. You get out of here now! Unless you have… treats or toys for me? I could be bought off with a few temptations.
